Gregg Olsen narrated the story of a murder in an Amish community with great understanding of how the subculture is supposed to function. When Eli Weaver takes his desire to be rid of his wife to a Mennonite friend, Barb, their frequent texting leads to a murder conviction for her and to a long sentence to Eli for his plotting to rid himself of the mother of his children. One learns a great deal about the different divisions of Amish and how family problems are generally kept in the culture. Eli's brazen scheming to rid himself of his wife ended with a lifetime conviction for his friend and a long prison sentence for him. Even though I have stated the outcome, this is a novel very worth the reading time; it reveals the way a closed culture handles a serious crime that brings the "English" world directly into their isolated society!
